Side swept updo

Side Swept Updo

This is one of my favorite bridal styles. It is one of the most flattering looks. I love it because there are many brides that want to wear their hair down on their big day, but there is always a debate on whether the hair should be worn up. In my opinion I love both. This look is so fun because you get best of both worlds. It is pulled to the side so there isn't hair resting on your neck all day. From the back it looks up. But from the front and side it gives you a trendy side look. This is also a perfect red carpet style!

Textured bridal bun

Bridal updo

This beautiful bride wanted an elegant updo but also something that had some texture. One of my favorites for brides. It's soft, elegant, and simple. This is a fun way to have the traditional wedding updo, with still keeping it modern by adding tighter curls which adds texture. I love this look because you can wear a veil or you can also wear a headband instead to dress it up a little more. If you decided to wear a veil it would fit perfectly right above the bun.

Boyfriend Jeans and a Blazer!

This outfit is one of my new favorite trends!

I love that I can look dressy and casual at the same time. The blazer dresses up the whole outfit, while the boyfriend cut/ripped jeans gives the outfit a more edgy look.  I love to add  double cuffs on the blazer and jeans!  Such a fun look!

I love the boyfriend cut jeans because you can wear any top with it. This outfit would look great with any colored blazer and even with a darker jean. I know I say this a lot, but I am all about a good deal!  I found this cute blazer at Kohl's. The boyfriend cut jeans and the cute black strap wedge shoe was my great find at Bohme. The cute tank underneath the blazer I purchased at H&M. The saying "dance until dawn" seems to make me want to enjoy my day!  Perfect saying for a fabulous outfit!

I also added a small belt for a slight touch to the waistline. Something as simple as the belt pulls the entire outfit together! As you can see I kept this outfit very neutral. I added a color earring to add variety. If you wanted more color, add a colored shoe that matches your belt or wear a necklace to add some color!  There is so much you can do with this outfit! I love the dressy yet casual look!!

Why the Multi Tone Look Is Taking Off!

The Multi Tone "Ombre" Is Taking Off

This is the new and biggest thing guests are asking for while sitting in my chair is "The Ombre".  What is it about this look that is making everyone want it?

The "Ombre" has been the "in" trend for the last four years. But this is a different way to do it.  It is the multi tones in the "Ombre" that is making everyone go crazy over this look!

This Multi Tone Ombre gives for a more natural look and makes it easier to blend. Many think that the Ombre needs to be two tones, when in fact it looks more natural if there are multiple tones in the hair! Brunettes that are wanting to go blonde, this look is a much easier way to get the the desired look you want. It is much easier on the hair which causes less damage.  It gives brunettes a soft sun kiss look while still keeping the depth that most brunettes like.

As for blondes, warmer tones with the Ombre are always key!  Warm tones reflect light, making the golden blondes look brighter.  Multi tones in blondes give blondes a more natural look! With this Ombre look, we are still keeping our solid blondes that we blonde girls love!

If you have been thinking about a new look, go  ahead, try the Multi Tone Ombre look!  You will LOVE it!  Summer time is the best time for change!

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade

There is not a better saying than "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade".
Lemons are a natural mood booster and their scent helps to calm and also relieve stress. lemons do more than just brighten your mood—they’re great for your skin! Lemons contain vitamin C, which helps the production of collagen that makes your skin  smooth and firm. lemons are an antioxidant that protects skin against damage by free radicals.

One of my favorite things to do during the summer is have a delicious fresh glass of lemonade! It is so rejuvenating and gives me more energy! It is also one of the most refreshing drinks for summer!

The most popular time of year is summer, so this is the season to enjoy this citrus fruit. Here is a yummy lemonade recipe that you can make to help brighten your soul!

Lemonade recipe
1.5 cups simple syrup
2 cups lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
1 cup fresh mint leaves
6–7 cups cold water
Slices of lemon and mint sprigs

*To make simple syrup, heat 1 1/4 cups sugar and 1 1/4 cups water over low heat until the sugar is dissolved.

*Stir together the simple syrup, lemon juice, mint, and cold water. Refrigerate for one hour to let the flavors develop. Garnish with slices of lemon and sprigs of mint before serving.

How to create modern finger waves

Step by step tutorial on how to create modern finger waves
Step 1: Begin curling your hair with a 1 inch curling iron. Curl the curls going in the same direction. (Preferably towards the face).

Step 2: Once the curls are all done, let the curls sit for 10 minutes to cool down. Letting the curls cool down will help the curls to last longer.

Step 3: Brush/comb through the hair softly to form the curls together. Combing the curls will help make the hair more workable when forming a wave in the hair. Take sections of the hair and backcomb though the hair to create soft volume. Always remember to keep the hair smooth while doing this style. If you back comb and their are hairs sticking up, softly run your comb over it to create a smooth look.

Step 4: Begin to use your comb to help form the wave. Start at the top of the head were the curl pattern begins. Press the comb against the head holding the wave pattern into place. Begin to spray lightly with hairspray to hold the wave you just created. Continue down the hair until you hit the last wave pattern.

Step 5: Refer back to step 4 as much as you need to during step 5. Once you have formed the waves together. Use a long metal clip to hold the wave pattern into place. After you have finished this step spray the hair to hold this style together. Continue on the next side of your head and repeat all 5 steps.

Step 6: take clips out and you have a beautiful modern finger wave. If you want to define the wave more use your comb to press the wave where you want it. Than spray with hairspray to hold into place. You are finished!

This is a fun look for a night out on the town! It creates a very elegant look without wearing your hair in an up style.

If you want more of a messy look but still like to keep your curl pattern in the same direction, comb the hair out using your fingers to separate the curls.

Braid to the Side

This beautiful bride kept it simple on her wedding day. We did a simple outside braid taking all the hair to one side. We did soft curls all to make for an elegant but sexy look. This is a fun way to have your hair down for your big day but also pulled off your neck. She looked absolutely stunning and I was so blessed to be a part of her special day!

Sequin Skirt

If this skirt doesn't speak Glitter and Glam,  I don't know what does.

I love, love, love me a good deal! And I love taking the rules and twisting them into something awesome—casual with fancy, sassy with feminine, expensive with cheap—all of it puts a smile on my face, and hopefully yours.

Some of my favorites: this flowing, sequin skirt from Veryjane.com, Vera Wang shoes from Kohls, fun casual T from groopdealz.com, and to give it all summertime flair, this darling hat from Walmart.

QUICK PONY FOR A CASUAL STYLE

These styles are quick and easy - fun style for a casual day. They are easy to do and give you a trendy look!
You start with a half pony. Use a clear elastic to hold the first section up. Take a piece of hair from the half pony tail and wrap it around the elastic to cover the elastic.  Pin it in place with a bobby pin.  Take the second section of hair and put an elastic round it. Do the last 3 sections with an elastic. When you're finished putting everything up begin to pull apart each sections to give it texture. Depending on the look you want you can pull a little or a lot.

This next style can be built on from the first style.  After you have the style you want, pull the end of the pony tail and loop it through below the first elastic following the half pony.  Pull it apart again to add the extra volume and pop.  Pin where it's needed.
